Shon Lizgold

Currently Seeking

Narrative lead or senior writer roles on AI / Indie titles with literary ambition.

Shon Lizgold is a narrative designer and prose writer working at the intersection of literary fiction and interactive systems. He apprenticed as a poet, paid his dues as a screenwriter, and now writes almost exclusively for games.

His work focuses on branching dialogue that responds to systemic state rather than scripted flags — characters who remember not just what the player said, but what kind of weather they said it in. He has shipped writing for two small indie titles, ghostwritten a world bible for an unannounced AA project, and self-published three pieces of long-form interactive fiction.

He believes the next decade of video game writing belongs to authors who treat the medium as literature, not as a delivery mechanism for set pieces.

Craft / Three Pillars

Restraint

Silence is content. Every line earns its presence; everything else gets cut.

Systemic Voice

Dialogue should respond to systems — weather, hunger, allegiance — not just flags.

Story World

A world bible isn't a wiki. It's the shape of what the player will never directly see.
